HERE ARE SOME RESOURCES, STARTING WITH A PLAN. WORK FROM TIP TO BOTTOM.

1) Minimize all expenses except those absolutely necessary. Maximize income through second jobs, extra work, couponing, sales, etc.

 2) Ask friends and family. Ask churches, civic groups, and your government representatives.

 3) Make sure you are staying in a place you can afford. Consider roommates to help share the rent/expenses.

 5) Call North Georgia Community Action (NGCA), contact person: Carolyn Spencer (706) 657.4664, for emergency assistance (rental/mortgage assistance, prescription medication assistance, utility crisis intervention, budget counseling and referrals): http://ngcainc.com/community-services-dade-county/

 6) Metropolitan Ministries in Chattanooga helps provide rental assistance to those in need in both the Chattanooga area, as well as, those in Dade County, Walker County, & Catoosa County, Georgia, as well as other outlying areas. They not only provide rental assistance, they provide food (food bank) and other services as well. During Covid-19, they have suspended in-person client service, but will continue to serve guests by phone (423-624-9650 or 423-624-9654) first-come first-served basis on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday from 9am - 3pm. http://www.met-min.org/

 ASSISTANCE APP AVAILABLE- “Aunt Bertha.” This app helps you locate assistance places for food assistance, rent assistance, utilities assistance, clothing banks, medical supplies and medical services assistance, and much more. I downloaded the app just to see what it did; it’s a legitimate app. So those who need assistance, this may help you out.
